Sheila Lamb Gabler meets with dignitaries from Ireland

As the world celebrates St. Patrick’s Day, our favorite Irish-American, Matt Lamb, celebrates his family’s Irish heritage.

Matt’s daughter, Sheila Lamb Gabler, and Julie McNally, board member of the Dali-Lamb Museum, recently met with Irish leaders in Chicago and talked with them about the museum, Matt’s artwork, and his tireless efforts to promote world peace.

One event was held at the showplace of the future Dali-Lamb Museum, while the other, the 109th Annual St. Patrick's Day Dinner, was held at the Hilton Hotel.

In the following photos you will see Sheila and Julie—along with Sheila’s husband Joe Gabler and daughter Rose Lamb Gabler—posing with dignitaries including the mayors of Cork and Galway, Ireland, as well as with Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, and Frances Cardinal George, the Cardinal of Chicago.

Among other topics, Sheila and the visiting dignitaries discussed the possibility of opening one or more Matt Lamb Museums in Ireland.

We will keep you posted as events unfold.

Happy St. Patty’s Day, everyone!

Matt, enjoyed your post about the Irish Prime Minister and othervisitors.  I always love the pictures that you post from Ireland andhow you tell about the animals you encounter during the course of yourdaily life.  My family is Scottish and German and English, so I waswondering what you think is the essence of being Irish?  Tellingstories?  Drinking Guiness?  Being Catholic or Protestant?  Luck o'theIrish to you, whatever your answer is!
