Political correctness seems to dominate almost everything that we do in today’s world, which in my view really cuts into individual interpretation and expression.
There’s no pabulum left in the world.
Some people are eating gruel and some people are eating ice cream, and they’re all smiling and saying how wonderful it is.
I long for the olden days where if you didn’t like it, you spat it out, made a face, and got the hell out of the restaurant!
Nowadays you wipe your mouth, say how grand it is, and leave a 20% tip. No one ever finds out that they’re serving up swill.
God forbid we say what we think and think about what we say.
I’m not advocating that we alienate everybody.
If people think they have the greatest car in the world and it’s a 1979 junker, why burst their bubble?
If people wear a suit size of 98 and they think they’re tip-toeing through the tulips, that’s fine—but you might want to show them a short cut around your garden.
