Painting and marching for peace in Nashville

Hello, bloggers.

Last week, as the world remembered September 11, 2001, Matt Lamb reprised the Umbrellas for Peace project he originally created at the behest of the United States Congress to help children who were orphaned by the terrorist attacks.

Since 9/11, the Umbrellas for Peace art therapy workshops and peace parades have taken on a life of their own and been adapted for diverse audiences across the world.

Last week’s event was held in Nashville, Tennessee, and was covered by NBC affiliate WSMV-TV with a 4-minute-long feature report.

Here is a link to the report, in which Matt is interviewed, along with participating students and teachers, about the origins and impact of the Lamb Umbrellas for Peace.

Here is a link to photos of Matt’s September 11 address to The Centennial Club in Nashville.

And here is a link to photos of Matt’s art opening at Bella Luce in Nashville.

Please enjoy!
