Hello, bloggers.
I believe it is a prerequisite of being part of our species that we are concerned with kindness to each other; that we do not have to agree with each other; that we tolerate things we don’t quite understand; but that we love everyone.
Somewhere the species has gone wrong, when we concentrate only on self and disregard everything else. It leaves no room for the unfortunate, the deprived, the people who have no food or shelter, or love or kind words.
That’s probably part of our prison situation, where people’s basic needs are provided for—a place to sleep, eat, and take a dump—but the loving kindness of family and communication with others is not present.
Sometimes we regard love and kindness as luxuries, or as mundane and unneccesary. But I believe that loving each other is at the basis of all religious teachings and is the prime mover of the universe.
All of the world’s great prophets, peacemakers, philosophers, and entertainers are really carriers of a divine message, which I believe is this: All things work together for good if they are based in love.
